Cookie Notice
Which browser cookies RewardClass Schools uses, why we need them and how you can change your choice.
What is a cookie?
It is a small value stored by your browser. Some cookies are essential to sign-in and security; other technologies can be used for optional analytics or preferences.
Cookies and storage in the current application
| Cookie or setting | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHP session cookie (server-configured name) | Keeps session state for accounts, security checks and manual country selection where used. | Essential | Usually the browser session or server-configured expiry. |
rc_cookie_preferences | Records the cookie setting chosen from the footer or banner. | Essential preference | Up to 12 months, unless cleared sooner. |
| Country hints and selector | The site can suggest country-specific language and year-group labels using hosting information, configured IP-location services or browser language; a manual choice can be stored in the session. | Site operation / preference | Generally session-based for manual choice; server-side location processing depends on deployment. |
| Optional analytics, if enabled later | May help understand site usage if a suitable provider is added, consent rules are followed and pupil-area safeguards are applied. | Optional | Would be documented before activation. |
Optional cookies and your choice
Optional tracking should remain disabled until it is properly configured and, where required, you agree. Selecting “Accept optional cookies” records a preference; it does not by itself mean analytics are installed. You can revise the saved preference using the control below.
Cookies in the pupil area
The pupil area uses cookies necessary for sign-in, safe sessions and learning functions. The supplied cookie banner does not activate optional analytics for pupils. Any future pupil-area tracking would require a separate suitability and legal review.
Third-party services and links
Paid checkout and billing portal pages are hosted by Stripe and subject to Stripe’s own privacy and cookie information. Links or embeds added by teachers may take users to other providers, which may set their own cookies. Schools should review such resources before assigning them.
Browser controls
You can clear or block cookies using browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in and normal operation. For more on the information we process, read our Privacy Notice.
